A few 'pocket camera pics' from a recent trip.

Some scans from prints from the mid 70's.

Took my son camping to Barmouth, so a chance to get a few pics. I remember trecking about a mile over fields to get to Dovey Junction, as there was no road access. A nice location with lower quadrant signals, and 37's on the Euston-Aberystwyth.

A bit better quality on this set; film was Fujichrome 100 taken using an OM2 with 35-70 and 70-210 lenses. I must have been very lucky to see an oil train working out of the oil terminal. Can't remember where I got the headcodes from.

Plenty of grain in these pics which were shot on Scotch 1000 asa slide film. The main changes, apart from traction, are the station buildings and footbridge.

A couple of trips along what is now called the Robin Hood line between Mansfield and Worksop, calling at Warsop, Whitwell, Shirebrook and Ollerton. Film was Agfachrome 100 although my cheap flatbed scanner hasn't fully done the pics justice; nevertheless, a useful record.

Some twilight and night shots. Nikon D200, 35-70 at 2.8, 800asa. Shutter speeds varied between 1/10 and 1/80 sec. Moving trains were panned. White balance set to auto, then copies were coloured corrected as far as possible.

A trip to get shots of the semaphores before they disappear.
